Our Approach

Easterly Clear Ocean (ECO) employs an active private-equity ownership model: acquiring, operating and ultimately exiting vessels across market cycles to pursue current income and capture asset appreciation.

Built on generations of maritime experience, we combine institutional investment discipline with deep operating expertise and decades of industry relationships. This connectivity allows us to source opportunities, manage vessels and access parts of the market that many managers cannot.

Strategic Access at Scale

The Platform Behind the Fleet

Our edge runs deeper than the vessels themselves. Through a combination of ownership stakes and strategic partnerships with leading commercial managers and at-scale pools, we sit inside the market rather than beside it, often gaining first access to off-market opportunities, live intelligence on where vessels are trading and at what rates, and the scale to sharpen economics on fuel, canal transits and employment. It’s an advantage that’s difficult for a traditional financial buyer to access, and one we believe can grow more valuable over time.

CONNECTING GLOBAL TRADE THROUGH A DIVERSIFIED FLEET OF PRODUCT AND CHEMICAL TANKERS.

Where We Invest

Much like the stock or bond market, leadership across maritime subsectors rotates with the cycle. Because we own our vessels, we have the flexibility to buy and sell when we believe supply-demand dynamics and market conditions are most attractive at any given point.

Our current fleet includes but is not limited to

Chemical tanker placeholder

Specialized Transport

Chemical Tankers

Specialized stainless-steel vessels that transport liquid chemicals, refined petroleum products and edible oils, where trade-route shifts and tight supply can drive rate strength.

Dry bulk vessel

Essential Raw Materials

Dry Bulk

Carriers moving iron ore, coal, grain, fertilizer and other raw materials that underpin industrial demand and global infrastructure.

Offshore service vessel

Offshore Infrastructure

Offshore Service Vessels

Specialized ships designed to support offshore activities, particularly oil and gas, renewable energy, and deep-sea operations.

Identify → Acquire → Operate → Manage for Income → Exit with Discipline

How We Invest

The result is a private-equity approach to maritime investing built around both the income-generating potential of the underlying assets and opportunities for active value creation.

  1. Identify

We use relationship-driven sourcing and deep industry access to find structural supply-demand imbalances driven by aging fleets and constrained shipyard capacity.

  2. Acquire

We apply rigorous underwriting to buy vessels at attractive entry points where values may not fully reflect improving fundamentals.

  3. Operate

We actively manage each vessel ourselves, balancing spot and time-charter exposure to optimize how the asset is deployed across a cycle.

  4. Manage for Income

We aim to emphasize performance, cost discipline and cash generation throughout ownership.

  5. Exit with Discipline

As conditions evolve, we evaluate whether to hold, charter or sell each asset to seek value from acquisition through exit.
